Travelling to Opole for dental treatment — flights, transfers, stay
How to travel to Opole for your dental treatment: flights to Wrocław/Katowice, transfers, accommodation, journey times. A practical travel guide for international dental patients.
Opole is surprisingly easy to reach for international patients — close to two airports and well connected. Here’s everything you need to know about getting there.
Where is Opole
Opole is in south-west Poland (Silesia region), on the A4 motorway between the German border and Kraków. A pleasant riverside university city, often called the “Polish Venice”.
Flying in (the usual route)
Two airports are close to Opole:
- Wrocław (WRO) — ~1 hour to Opole by car/train
- Katowice (KTW) — ~1 hour to Opole
- Kraków (KRK) — ~1.5 hours (more flight options)
There are direct flights from many UK and Irish cities (London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Dublin and others) to Wrocław and Katowice, often with budget airlines. From the airport: rental car, train or transfer to Opole. We’re happy to help with arrangements.
By train
Opole has a well-connected railway station on the Dresden–Wrocław–Kraków line. From Wrocław it’s a short hop to Opole. A good option if you’d rather not drive.
By car
If you’re combining with a European road trip, Opole sits right on the A4 motorway — about 1.5 hours from the German border (Görlitz).
Accommodation in Opole
Opole offers hotels and guesthouses in all price ranges, many just minutes from the clinic (ul. Centralna 33a):
- 3-4 star hotels in the centre
- Budget guesthouses and apartments
- Prices typically well below UK levels
We’re happy to recommend options and schedule appointments so your trips are efficient.
How many trips are needed?
- Implants: usually 2 trips (placement + crown after healing)
- All-on-4: 2 trips (implants with same-day temporaries + final bridge)
- Crowns, veneers, root canal: often 1 trip

Combine treatment with a short break
Many patients use the stay for a short trip: Opole’s old town, the riverside, good restaurants. Wrocław (a beautiful city) is nearby. The treatment becomes a pleasant visit rather than a chore.
Practical tips
- Travel documents: for EU citizens, an ID card is enough; UK visitors travel visa-free for short stays (check current rules)
- Payment: Euro, GBP and card accepted
- Language: English spoken at the clinic — no communication worries
- Appointments: enquire early so both trips can be planned well
Conclusion
Opole is easy to reach — ~1 hour from Wrocław or Katowice airports, with direct budget flights from the UK and Ireland. With good scheduling, usually only two trips are needed, and accommodation is affordable. Travel is no obstacle — the savings clearly outweigh it.
